UAlbany, St. Rose reach student records transfer agreement

The University at Albany and the College of Saint Rose announced an agreement to transfer the academic records of current and former Saint Rose students into the care of UAlbany following Saint Rose's upcoming closure.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The University at Albany and the College of Saint Rose announced an agreement to transfer the academic records of current and former Saint Rose students into the care of UAlbany following Saint Rose's upcoming closure. The transfer process is expected to take place over the next seven months.

UAlbany will maintain Saint Rose's transcripts and other records indefinitely under the new agreement. The university was among the first schools in the region to sign a teach-out partnership with Saint Rose.

"The University at Albany is proud to continue to support our community with this important agreement to retain the academic records of College of Saint Rose students and alumni,” said UAlbany President Havidán Rodríguez. "Through our teach-out agreement, the development of new undergraduate education programs, the hiring of former Saint Rose employees and this new record-retention agreement, UAlbany is stepping up to ensure that Saint Rose’s legacy lives on and that the Capital Region’s higher education needs are met."

"We are grateful for the support University at Albany President Dr. Havidán Rodríguez, Provost Dr. Carol Kim and their colleagues have shown, and continue to show, Saint Rose students and alumni," said College of Saint Rose President Marcia White. "UAlbany was the first partner to sign a teach-out agreement with Saint Rose, offering at least 85 percent of the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs a degree completion pathway. Throughout this past year, our work with UAlbany has centered on meeting the needs of the Saint Rose community, now and in the future, a testament to our shared commitment to our educational missions and the Capital Region."

Saint Rose students and alumni will now have continued access to their documents after the college closes at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. Records requests can still be submitted to the Saint Rose registrar’s office until the transfer process is completed near the end of December.
