Musical theater company honors Albany man, daughter
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Fallen Chandelier Productions is honoring Capital District resident Aaron Barker with a memorial performance of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," featuring members of the 1996 cast he performed with. The performance is on Sunday, June 2, at the Academy of the Holy Names Art Center at 2 p.m.
The show is not only in honor of Barker's legacy; it's also in support of Barker's daughter, Madeline, and her future education. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards a trust for Madeline, and tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Barker died on Saturday, April 27, from pancreatic cancer at the age of 45. He had a great passion for musical theater, which blossomed from playing lead roles in his high school's musical theater productions. One of his most notable roles he played was "Joseph" in the 1996 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Event organizer Francesca DelSignore said bringing past and present casts is a tribute to the community, Barker, and his love for musical theater. "We hope this event not only honors his memory but also helps secure a bright future for his daughter," she said.
