Lago Vista High School releases students early after lockdown, cancels after school events

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lago Vista High School went on lockdown Wednesday after what Lago Vista ISD called a "student self-harm situation."

The district said there was no threat to other students at the school.

The campus went to an early dismissal plan, the district said.

Other Lago Vista ISD schools were not released early; however, all after school events in the district were canceled.

"LVHS student drivers and students riding with a student driver will be released first. LVHS students riding the bus will be released and transported home via bus," the district said. "Once LVHS drivers and bus riders are safely off campus, we will notify LVHS parents when car pickup may begin."

The district said it will provide updates as necessary. As of 3:25 p.m., all Lago Vista High students have been released.
