Edie Falco's 'Nurse Jackie' Sequel Series Moves Networks, Heads to a Streaming Service

Edie Falco is set to reprise her role as Jackie Peyton in an upcoming new series!

The 60-year-old actress will star in a Nurse Jackie sequel series nearly ten years after the original show ended, as was announced a year ago.

However, in the latest update, Variety reveals that the sequel will no longer be on Showtime, where they OG series aired for seven seasons.

Per the site, the series is headed for Prime Video and is currently in development at the Amazon-owned streamer, with Lionsgate Television serving as the production studio, as they did the original run.

Edie will continue to star and executive produce.

Here’s a synopsis: “10 years after we left Jackie Peyton (Falco) clinging to life in the series finale, we find her back on her feet in spite of having lost her nursing license. The continuation of her story will find her facing new dilemmas in trying to be good in a world where being bad is often not only easier, but a lot more fun.”
