Rotterdam discusses new rules for hotels, motels

The town of Rotterdam held a meeting to discuss hotel laws in the town.

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The town of Rotterdam held a meeting to discuss hotel laws in the town. This comes after the Super 8 motel was evacuated due to a non-working fire suppression sprinkler system.

Some of the new rules include staying in the hotel for no more than 28 days in a row without permission. A person also cannot stay at the motel for more than 60 days in a 180-day time period.

A government issued photo ID must be presented at the front desk upon arrival, and all visitors must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
