MLB legends, women's baseball and softball stars to promote Home Run Derby X in the US

Major League Baseball (MLB) will display Home Run Derby X in four US cities in August and September.

MLB legends Andruw Jones, Jake Arrieta, Dexter Fowler, Nick Swisher, Ian Desmond and Jonny Gomes will join USA Women's Baseball National Team stars Alex Hugo and Ashton Lansdell as well as softball stars Jocelyn Alo, Paige Halstead and Mia Davidson Smith.

The dates and the locations of the events are:

  • August 10, Parkview Field, Fort Wayne, Indiana, home of the High-A Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padres)
  • August 23, Isotopes Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico, home of the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes (Rockies)
  • August 31, First Horizon Park, Nashville, Tennessee, home of the Triple-A Nashville Sounds (Brewers)
  • September 7, Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Durham, North Carolina, home of the Triple-A Durham Bulls (Rays)

Arrieta (also a Cy Young award winner), Desmond and Swisher are former All-Stars who will return to Home Run Derby X. Jones is a former All-Star who represented the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic. Fowler is a World Series winner.

Hugo earned Most Outstanding Player honours at the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A in 2023. She is a roving instructor in the Oakland A's organisation.

Lansdell, a former college softball star, also contributed to the USA National Team campaign.

Alo is the all-time NCAA home run leader with 122. Halstead represented the US in the 2016 and 2017 USA Softball International Cup. Davidson Smith also starred in collegiate softball.

Home Run Derby X is an exciting new baseball format built around power-hitting and defensive hustle. During MLB World Tour 2023, it enjoyed massive success in London, Seoul, and Mexico City.
