Football Governance Bill dropped
It’s has been confirmed that because of the General Election on July 4th, there will be no time to let the Football Governance Bill though the various stages in Parliament.
Tracey Couch had this to say on X
Unfortunately the Football Governance Bill will progress no further and although there is a ready made Bill for the next Government, I won’t be here to see it pass. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to EVERYONE who helped shape this Bill 1/…

Tracey added, importantly
My final plea is to the Premier League and EFL…please, for the sake of football, sit back down and start negotiating a deal. The impasse is infuriating. I know it is complex. But please, agree a deal. The End.

The FSA also added their opinion on x.com
We’re sorry to see the Football Governance Bill dropped at this late stage BUT the final whistle has not blown.
The bill has cross-party support and we call on the next Government to get this political football under control and pass it into an empty net.
Details of the Bill can be found on the Government website
