2026 Louisiana Motor Vehicle Inspection stickers may fade. What you need to know
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- The Louisiana State Police is alerting the public about a defect with the 2026 Motor Vehicle Inspection stickers.
LSP said exposure to the sun might be causing some of the inspection stickers to fade from yellow to clear or white.
"Individuals who have received 2026 MVI stickers from January 1, 2024, until the present date may experience fading," officials said in a Thursday, May 23 news release. LSP said those stickers are valid and car owners do not need to do anything.
"The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles is aware of this issue, and is working to replace the current unissued inventory," LSP said.
