Asda discontinues ‘best curry’ that’s perfect for a quick snack leaving fans gutted

SHOPPERS have been left gutted after Asda discontinued its “best curry” perfect for a quick spicy snack.

One customer asked if the supermarket giant rebranded their curry range, only to find out that the fan favourite Chicken Vindaloo would no longer be on shelves.

They wrote on X: “I noticed you have rebranded your curry meals. Have you discontinued the chicken vindaloo?”

A representative for Asda then replied: “I am sorry to tell you that the chicken vindaloo meal has been discontinued and is no longer on sale.”

Asda told us the Vindaloo was discontinued last year.

The Chicken Vindaloo meal was popular amongst curry lovers, with one shopper claiming it was the best she’s had.

The woman, who goes by Julie on X, posted: “Just found Chicken Vindaloo from Asda.

“Best shop bought curry I’ve had and I’ve tried a lot.

“Pretty hot but tasty hot.”

Another shopper wrote on Reddit: “I’m so sad.

“I loved that ready meal and it seems like it’s gone from both my local store and also online.”

It’s not the first time in recent months a product being axed from shelves has left Asda shoppers in bits.

It comes after the supermarket giant axed a popular tea-time staple.

Asda confirmed it stopped selling 300g packs of garlic and herb tortelloni which let customers rustle up a quick dinner in just minutes.

But the bolognese tortelloni is still available for shoppers to buy.

Meanwhile, customers at LIDL were devastated to learn that a beloved beverage and well-liked mixer was removed from the shelves.

The shop, which has more than 960 locations throughout the UK, confirmed that one of its Freeway sparkling drink flavours was discontinued.

Shoppers are no longer able to pick up Elderflower Mexican Lime from their nearest branch.

Fans of the drink say it’s ideal for mixing with alcoholic beverages like gin or vodka, instead of “ridiculously priced artisan mixers”.

Some have already started realising the Freeway drink has been dropped from shelves, while others have been left wondering where it’s gone.

One posted on X saying: “Why on earth have you discontinued the best drink EVER?!?! I am beyond gutted.”

Another commented: “Are you still selling Freeway sparkling fruit crush Mexican Lime & Elderflower??

“Will be gutted if no longer available.”

All is not lost though, as Lidl has introduced three new flavours of Freeway to replace the Mexican Lime variety.

A spokesperson for Lidl said: “We can confirm that our sparkling fruit crush range is currently going through an exciting refresh, with new flavours being introduced including Apple and Elderflower, Orange and Passionfruit as well as Pear and Raspberry.”
