Brett Luy was announced as RIFC’s inaugural president in November of 2022. He had previously served as executive vice president of league operations for USL, where he oversaw the competition and operations of all USL properties.

Fortuitous Partners released a statement early Thursday morning stating that Brett Luy has officially taken a new role as a special advisor with Fortuitous Partners and will no longer be involved in day-to-day activities with the soccer team.

Involved in the statement, Fortuitous Partners chairman and Rhode Island FC co-founder Brett Johnson stated, “Brett played an important role as the club’s inaugural president. He oversaw the efforts to secure important sponsors, develop a strong working relationship with Bryant University, and build the club’s first ever roster.”

The statement also added that the club is expecting to name a new president in the near future.

The statement closed with announcing that David Brady, a senior consultant to the board, will oversee the club’s day-to-day operations until a new president is named.
