I tried M&S’ £15 bum boosting pants – I thought I’d feel like Kim K but looked like I was hiding a SPONGE down there

KIM KARDASHIAN is famed across the world for her bum, and many have spent thousands trying to replicate her look.

Some have gone as far as to have a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a painful surgery which involves transferring fat from other parts of your body to your bum, to give you an hourglass figure.

The surgery is incredibly dangerous, and can even prove to be fatal.

So for those of us who aren’t ready to risk our lives for the perfect backside, M&S has come up with a solution.

The high street store has released a new innovation in undies, with its Bum Boosting Shorts.

The padded shapewear style shorts give you a bigger and more shapely bottom, which is supposed to be both flattering and natural looking.

M&S are the market leader in bras, selling on average 40 every minute, but have turned their skills to boosting women’s bums.

Available in three colour ways for £15, Soozie Jenkinson, Head of Lingerie Design at Marks and Spencer, said: “We’ve received requests from both UK and international customers, who are looking for a product that does for bums, what we’ve been doing for boobs, for years.”

Dubbed “The BBS” by the brand Soozie added that the “shapes provide contoured silhouettes for customers wanting to create this look.”

Intrigued by the possibility of having a more shapely behind just by putting on a pair of pants, I decided to purchase some and give them a go.

The first thing I noticed after purchasing the pants was how thick the padding is.

I was expecting it to be much thinner and more natural-looking, but it instead felt like there were two enormous cushions attached to the shorts.

I pulled them on, expecting to be immediately transformed into Kim K, but instead instantly felt ridiculous.

The bum pads jutted out at the sides in a very exaggerated and oddly shaped manner, reminding me of the bum equivalent of Madonna‘s iconic cone bra.

As soon as my boyfriend saw me in the pants, instead of being in awe at my new bum, he simply burst out laughing.

“I think it looks unnatural and I don’t find it attractive at all, it sticks out too much,” he said.

Determined to persevere with my new look, I pulled some leggings over the shorts, and headed out to Westfield, to see people’s reactions.

Instead of giving me confidence, the shorts actually made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, and I was convinced that everyone in the shopping centre was staring at me, and wondering why I had shoved two sponges down my pants.

Mum-of-two Sally's thoughts on the shorts

Mum-of-two Sally Windsor, 44, also shared her thoughts on the M&S bum boosting shorts – and she was more of a fan.

She told Fabulous: “Oh I really like them a lot.

“They’re the most knicker/ shapewear feeling and looking to wear.

“So soft to touch and wear against your skin, so comfortable whilst shaping your figure.

“The waist band looked stiff on the hanger but they’re very comfortable.

“The padding is better on the M&S pair, they’re more towards my hips and not just smack bang in the middle of my bum.

“Which is more natural to have fuller glutes and hips.

“Another plus is that you can’t see the pads through the fabric of the brief which is a huge plus so you can wear whatever over the top and no one will see the padding.

” I think they look really good!”

RATING: 5 / 5

I ended the shopping trip swiftly, hurrying home to rip off the shorts and go back to having a normal sized bum.

Although, at £15, the shorts are a bargain, I think I’ll stick to doing squats in the gym in my quest for a more peachy looking bum.
