Albany man gets 25 to life for 2022 murder

On Friday, an Albany man was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison for committing second-degree murder in 2022.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Friday, an Albany man was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison for committing second-degree murder in 2022. Willie Green, 41 and considered a persistent felon, was convicted of the murder charges and more by a jury in April.

An indictment alleged that around Nov. 10, 2022, Green intentionally caused the death of Hacief Oliver during a concert. The two men were performing at the concert. Oliver was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene.

Green was also found guilty of additional indicted charges of second-degree criminal facilitation and first-degree hindering prosecution. Major Crimes Bureau Chief Joseph Brucato and Assistant District Attorney Marissa Olsen prosecuted the case.
