Kate Middleton's Friend Addresses Claims That She Has Been in Touch With Prince Harry
Kate Middleton‘s friend is hitting back at rumors that the Princess of Wales has been in contact with her estranged brother-in-law during her cancer treatment. And if you were hoping that Middleton’s health issues would pave the way for a reconciliation, don’t hold your breath!
While speaking to The Daily Beast, the insider claimed that, despite claims that Prince Harry is moving towards reconciling with his family, Prince William was not going meet him halfway any time soon. “Meeting with Harry is the last thing that William or Catherine want or need right now,” the friend said. “It’s a fantasy. It’s not about apologies or who said what, it is about protecting his family. Kate is recovering from cancer, and they are avoiding stressful situations.”
This comes after a source alleged that Harry and Kate have been keeping in contact as she goes through preventative chemotherapy. “Everyone assumes Kate doesn’t like Harry, but they have a special bond that not many people really understand,” the source said. “She and Harry were extremely close at one time. She’s confided in him during some of her darkest moments, and now that includes her cancer battle.”
Kate and William’s friend told The Daily Beast that the couple have grown weary of how the family feud has dominated headlines in recent years and, consequently, are avoiding engaging with Harry or Meghan Markle. Even as reports increase to suggest that Harry and King Charles III have been rebuilding their relationship, William appears to be keeping his distance.
“The idea that Harry and the kids are going to descend on Balmoral this summer is wishful thinking. It’s all just very sad,” the friend added.
Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis in April, after undergoing an abdominal surgery back in January. Kate stepped back from royal duties amid her treatment. Charles is also going through his own cancer battle, which prompted Harry’s brief return to the UK to speak with his ailing father back in February.
