Tallest waterslide in US at 145ft with five slides set to open

The Rise of Icarus is set to open at Mt Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin over Memorial Day Weekend.

The tallest waterslide in America is geared up to open over Memorial Day Weekend and looks to offer a terrifying ride to those who dare.

Standing 145 feet tall, The Rise of Icarus with not one but five slides is set to begin operating at Mt Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin.

‘As the Greek myth goes, Icarus soared too close to the sun on wings fastened to his body with wax, with the heat of the sun melting the wax and Icarus falling to the sea,’ states the theme parks’ website.

’Here at Mt Olympus you’ll experience a much happier ending at the bottom of the slides!’

The tallest slide is called The Fall and is the one that begins 145 feet high.

The ride was announced last summer and is part of an $8million expansion plan at the park located in ‘the Waterpark Capital of the World’.

In addition to the record-breaking waterslide, the park’s expansion brings an outdoor children’s play area named Icaria Splash ‘n Slide.
