Bride-to-be excitedly shows off her new engagement ring, but everyone’s saying the same thing about her nails
SHE couldn’t wait to show off her new ring on social media.
But when she did, the bride-to-be was inundated with people saying the same thing – about her nails.
She posted a video on TikTok of herself taking part in the “it’s not just a boulder, it’s a rock” trend, which involves brides-to-be showing off their incredible engagement rings.
The clip began with her hand clenched, before she then turned her hand over to show off her sparkling new accessory.
But instead of being impressed by her stunning diamond engagement ring, people commenting on the video were more concerned about her nails.
“This just p**sed me off,” one wrote.
“Ran to the comments about the nails,” another added.
“Def made him, my mum, my friends, make sure my nails were done,” a third said.
“Ohhhh girllll why didn’t any of your friends take you to the salon?” someone else questioned.
“Love the ring tho!”
“The way I would just wait a day to do this when my nails were done lol,” another admitted.
“I’m so thankful my fiancé paid for my nails the day before he proposed,” someone else commented.
“Okay everyone’s hating on the nails but I’m impressed by the grow out, they are all there!” another wrote.
“Congratulations girl it’s beautiful!”
To which the woman replied: “Thank you! I appreciate that haha.
“I actually didn’t think it’ll be such a big deal for me not to get my nails done.”
In another video, the woman insisted her husband-to-be had actually paid for her to get her nails done the day before he popped the question.
But, by the time she took part in the ring trend TikTok, her nails had grown out a bit.
Top Wedding Trends of 2024
Sophie Creed, bridal designer and founder of bridal brand e&w Couture has shared this year's wedding trends.
Personal, personal, personal
Brides are leaning towards modern minimalism with lots of personal touches that show off their relationship as a couple for an overall wedding theme.
Sustainability is also a huge wedding trend, with brides opting for more locally sourced and in-season florals and food.
Sailing into the sunset
There’s a rise in bold sunset colours like pinks, corals, reds and yellows when it comes to colour schemes. Big bold bouquets and tonal bridesmaids are coming in to focus.
Fun-shoes and statement scrunchies
A fun shoe is always top of the list for brides this year, followed closely this year by a matching hair accessory to their dress such as a large statement bow or scrunchies.
Pockets are in!
Modern, flattering silhouettes with bold fabric choices are 2024’s wedding dress trend.
Brides also love a fuller skirt (with pockets), interesting back details and sophisticated plunging necklines.
Sleeves have been huge for us this season but nothing too fitted, instead opting for romantic billowing sleeves.
“Grow up,” she urged the trolls, “find something to do”.
“At the end of the day, I’m engaged, and you’re probably not!”
“Sorry the internet is so mean!!!” one person commented on that video.
“They will find anything to complain about! Your ring is gorgeous!
“We all walk around with grown out nails from time to time lol!”
“I know right! I know some people are mean but I didn’t expect it to be most of them lol,” she replied.
“Girl your ring is GORGEOUS,” another insisted.
“Ignore the hate comments people have literally nothing better to do omg!”
