The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations of Afghanistan has reported the expulsion of hundreds of Afghan migrants from Pakistan.

The ministry announced on Sunday, May 26, in a statement that 559 Afghan migrants, after being expelled by Pakistan, have re-entered the country through the Spin Boldak border in Kandahar province.

Similarly, the border command at Torkham in Nangarhar province reported that 36 families, consisting of 170 individuals, have re-entered the country through this crossing after being expelled.

According to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations statement, these migrants returned to the country on Saturday.

Additionally, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) recently stated that support for women and girls remains a major concern among returnees, as they face numerous risks.

According to the latest report from this commissioner, 80% of the returnees are women and children, 48% are women and girls, and 13% are female-headed households.

Afghan migrants are being expelled from Pakistan at a time when the expulsion process of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, particularly Iran and Pakistan, has significantly increased in recent months.
