Report: Global brand decide against Tottenham link-up as a result of no Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur will not join Paris Saint Germain in forging a partnership with the Jordan brand ahead of next season.

Nike currently supplies kits to four Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Brighton.

Footy Headlines reported back in January that one of the top Premier League clubs were set to have a fourth kit for the 2024/25 season and use it on a regular basis in a similar manner as to what PSG have done with Jordan.

Łukasz Bączek, Head of Marketing at Sportico took to social media platform X to reveal what he had heard from sources regarding a potential link up with either Tottenham or Chelsea.

The US sportswear giant has decided not to proceed with a partnership with either of the London clubs since their aim was the Champions League.

No Jordan kit deal for Tottenham ahead of the 2024/25 season

Bączek wrote: “Understand Jordan Brand will not enter into a partnership agreement with any of the London clubs (Chelsea & Tottenham) next season.

“From the beginning, the main goal of the US brand was the Champions League, according to sources.”

Tottenham were unable to break back into the top four in Ange Postecoglou‘s first season in charge but did secure a return to European competition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a finish-placed finish booking their place in the Europa League.

Chelsea thought they may have been joining Tottenham in the Europa League, however, they will now have to settle for the Europa Conference League following Manchester United’s FA Cup win over Manchester City meant the Red Devils will instead be the English representative alongside Spurs in the competition.

Not being in the Champions League will obviously come with some financial drawbacks since the appeal of the Europa League in the eyes of major brands is just not the same.

The reality, however, is at least from a playing perspective, Tottenham are more suited to the Europa League in these early stages of the Postecoglou era.
