Hibs legend, Joelle Murray received the Hibernian FC Special Recognition award, recognising her outstanding contribution to the Club and the Women’s game over the past two decades.

Joelle picked up the prize at the Hibs Player of the Year Awards night on Sunday 19 May – the same day as she played her last competitive game for Hibernian FC.

The 37-year-old called time on her historic playing career that saw he make 507 appearances for her childhood Club – winning 14 major trophies, including two league titles, seven Scottish Cups and five League Cups.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Joelle told Hibs TV how much this award meant to her.

“It means so much to me, first and foremost I’m a Hibs fan and the Club means so much to me.

“I would do what I do 24/7, seven days a week if I could because I love the Club so much.

“I have loved seeing the women's game progress over the years and that is something I'm proud to be a part of.”

Joelle is in good company with her award, following in the footsteps of Pat Stanton and Lewis Stevenson who won the Special Recognition Award in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

“It is all very overwhelming and very emotional hearing from my teammates and staff members from the women's team down at HTC, I’m very overwhelmed by all their kind words.

“I probably wasn’t prepared for something like this to be honest, watching all the tributes which were very nice and touching.”
