A CLEVER makeup technique has helped one woman create the illusion of having long curled eyelashes.
She revealed her favorite mascara and the hack she swears by for visible results.
The must-try tip was shared on Reddit’s Makeup forum during a discussion about life-changing tricks.
EYE-OPENING
A beauty guru writing under Helegg shared how changing her mascara application replaced her need to wear fake eyelashes.
“Eyelashes are my favorite part of makeup, because mine are short/sparse/straight, and in high school, I was insecure that I couldn’t get them to stay curled and look good,” she said.
“I used to experiment with falsies and thought about lash extensions but I finally perfected my mascara application a year ago and find it less hassle for me personally.
“I use Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift (must be Waterproof!) and apply in two layers.
“First just at the tips of the lashes so it doesn’t weigh them down at the root, then wait for it to mostly dry before covering everything with a second coat.”
Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift mascara has a whopping 4.5-star rating out of a possible 5 on Target.
The $9.99 product has a “double curved lifting brush” that the brand recommends using to apply the formula from root to tip.
According to Maybelline, the mascara has been created to give a “false eyelash effect.”

“I’m absolute crap at falsies but this stuff is a game changer and it makes my mascara last all day and I look like I’m wearing subtle extensions.”
“Heating my lash curler for a few seconds before use and thinning out mascara with eye drops,” another said.

The tips come after Beauty Bay skincare expert Grace Day shared advice for applying makeup to mature skin.
She told The U.S. Sun a hydrating cream can stop powder from settling into creases.
She recommended opting for dewy products rather than heavy makeup and said mascara can help open up the eyes.
