Police are ‘extremely concerned’ about two missing girls who could have travelled more than 170 miles from home.

Grace, aged 12, and 15-year-old Abbie, are believed to have left their home town of Worthing in Sussex on Friday morning and are both considered to be vulnerable.

It’s thought the two girls are using public transport to travel around the country, and they were caught on CCTV at a railway station.

Sussex Police believe they may have gone to Birmingham city centre, more than 170 miles from home.

Grace and Abbie’s families shared an emotional plea for the girls to return home, saying: ‘Grace and Abbie, we are really worried about you both and really miss you. We just want to know you’re both safe.

‘Please, if you see this, make contact with anyone. You are not in any trouble, we just want you both back home where you belong and where everyone cares about you both. We love you.

‘This is a personal message from the hearts of Lauren (Abbie’s guardian) and Steph (Grace’s mum).

‘If anyone knows where our girls are or have seen them, call police. Their families just want them home.’

Chief Superintendent Carwyn Hughes said: ‘We are extremely concerned for Grace and Abbie and we are working closely with their families and our colleagues at West Midlands Police to get them home safely.

‘Grace is 5’7″ of slight build with straight dark brown hair and glasses. Abbie is 5’7″ of large build with brown curly hair.

‘Grace is believed to be wearing grey jogging bottoms, a light brown zip up hoodie, a white vest top, white trainers and a big, light beige handbag.

‘Abbie was seen wearing a black t-shirt, black leggings, pink Nike air force trainers, Nike socks and a shoulder bag.

‘As part of our appeal, we are asking anyone who may have any CCTV or dashcam footage of someone that matches the girls’ description to come forward.’
