A DRIVER who used a cheeky trick to squeeze his motor into a roadside bay has been praised for his “10 out of 10 parking”.
The popular silver mini motor was spotted sideways in a roadside bay Middleton, North Yorkshire.
The 2014 Smart Fortwo Grandstyle is just 2.6m long – about half the length of average cars.
But the savvy driver parked it at right angles to the other vehicles using the street parking.
Local Tony Chopping, who spotted the car, said: “Absolutely 10/10 for parking, legend.”
Many others were quick to agree with the verdict, reports What’s The Jam.
Lauren Woodward stated: “That’s the point of Smart cars!”
John Durrell said: “I’m not even mad, I’m impressed.”
Wayne Jennings added: “Smart cars were designed to be able to park this way.”
Balthazar Fitz said: “Legend, this guy or girl is bang inside the lines.
“Ten out of ten deserves credit not criticism.”
Doug Walston added: “This is the only reason to own one of these claustrocars.”
Simon Jobson said: “This is what the car was made for.”
Yet Colin Saunders stated: “Smart car, dumb*** driver.”
Back in 2014, a woman was slapped with a £50 parking fine due to her parking her car in similar fashion.
The driver was given the fine by Gloucestershire County Council and spent a year trying to get it revoked.
But the £50 fine was then cancelled after an adjudicator stated no road regulations were broken.
It comes as residents of the UK’s “worst road for parking” claim things have got so bad that they avoid coming home from work.
Locals complain of being trapped in their homes, while the police are regular visitors when disputes flare up.

People living on Phillmore Road in Birmingham claim that the area has been overrun with motorists, competing for too few spaces, and are begging for a one-way system to ease congestion.

BRIT holidaymakers have been warned of the risk of huge bills thanks to “rogue meet and greet” firms parking cars in the wrong place at a major UK airport.
Drivers have faced charges of up to £100 thanks to shady unregulated companies posing as reputable parking services.
Gatwick Airport is one of the nation’s busiest and best, but the site has been targeted by a crop of unscrupulous parking businesses.
One driver claimed last year that he had to make his way home in a taxi after one such firm allegedly lost his Mercedes.
Another claimed that her motor had been taken on a 200-mile joyride while she was overseas.
Now, West Sussex Trading Standards have teamed up with the county’s police to urge travellers to take care when booking airport parking to avoid being ripped off.
The agency explained that it receives regular reports from customers who have had bad experiences with the services, but airport bosses say there’s nothing they can do.
Customers have reported issues including their vehicles being dumped in short-stay car parks while they are on holiday, leaving them facing a £100 penalty notice when they return.
