Jet2 is set to launch six new flights from a major UK airport.
The package deal giant has “listened to its customers” and put on more routes to snow-loving Brits’ favourite holiday destinations.
All new added countries will be available for the 2025/26 season – with Jet2 announcing them early so holidaymakers can beat the rush.
They include Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Turin.
Extra flights will be taking of from from Birmingham Airport, who recently scrapped strict 100ml hand luggage liquid rules.
New flights will give land-locked Midlanders and the rest of the country more options to depart from if they’re in need of a skiing or snowboarding escape.
Holidaymakers will have access to the French, Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps, and the Tyrolean Mountains.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: “With the airline experiencing strong demand from customers wanting to secure their place on the slopes, Jet2.com has responded by putting its ski programme on sale nice and early.
Birmingham Airport scrap 100ml liquid hand luggage rules
BIRMINGHAM Airport has scrapped the 100ml liquid hand luggage rules starting today (June 1).
The current 100ml liquid regulations were initially brought in as a temporary measure back in 2006, but have remained in place ever since.
However, they are set to finally be scrapped at all UK airports in the near future, with Birmingham set to be the first among the major transport hubs to get rid of them.
London City has already ditched the rules, but they serve a relatively small four million passengers a year, compared to the 12 million served by Birmingham, making it by far the largest in the UK to make the changes.
Central to the removal of the liquid rules are new CT scanners, which are being installed at airports across the UK.
They eliminate the need for passengers to restrict the liquids in their carry-on to 100ml. The new limit will be two litres, once the technology is fully up and running.
The scanners also mean travellers will no longer need to remove liquids and laptops from their bags when passing through airport security.
This will make the process of getting to departure gates much quicker and less stressful.
Birmingham is set to have the scanners in working order by June 1, which coincides with the final weekend of the half-term holidays, according to the Times.
“This means skiers and snowboarders can unlock the slopes in advance and lock in great-price ski flights for Winter 25/26.
“The wide selection of ski services from Jet2.com are available from December 2025 and will operate throughout the winter season.”

Jet2 recently launched a package holiday to Sozopol, Bulgaria.
The tour operator confirmed that it will be increasing its summer capacity to Sozopol by adding hotels across the seaside town to its portfolio.
Jet2 already has direct flights from nine UK bases, including Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool John Lennon, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle International, to Burgas Airport in Bulgaria.
OTHER NEW ROUTES
Jet2 isn’t the only airline expanding its offering in 2024.
Last month, easyJet announced the opening of its first new UK base in over a decade.
The budget airline, which already has eight bases around the UK, will operate 16 new routes from its brand-new base at Birmingham Airport.
From Birmingham Airport, easyJet will fly to Barcelona, Malaga, Alicante, Fuerteventura and Tenerife.
Other new routes are set to include Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey, as well as other destinations in Greece like Rhodes, Kos, Heraklion and Corfu.
EasyJet will also operate flights from Birmingham Airport to Berlin, Sharm El Sheikh, Larnaca Intl and Jersey.
The low-cost airline is also set to operate a brand-new route between London Gatwick and a newly-revamp airport in Italy.
The airline will fly twice weekly from London Gatwick to Pontecagnano (Salerno) Airport, which is currently undergoing a huge £400million renovation, making easyJet the first UK airline to operate commercial flights to Salerno Airport.
From July, twice-weekly flights will depart every Tuesday and Saturday, with one-way tickets starting from £27.99.
Ryanair is also launching flights from Cornwall Airport and Cardiff Airport, with new routes to Paris and Faro among some of those announced.
