My best hair tip came from a man with a shaved head – his 2 steps magically improved my locks, I wish I listened sooner
A LONG-HAIRED woman shared a tip that completely changed her hair’s texture.
She was shocked that her best hair advice came from a man with a shaved head.
A Redditor revealed she learned how to double shampoo from a hairstylist with a shaved head[/caption]Redditor Tlines06 shared the beauty trick in a viral post.
She explained that she realized she’d messed up by not using clarifying shampoo earlier.
“I am in shock. The waxy feeling is gone! Like there’s no buildup in my hair!” she said.
“My hair feels so soft! Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
She was initially reluctant to try the product, though she’d heard much about it.
“I had doubts at first. [I] didn’t see how a shampoo would magically get rid of my buildup,” she said.
“But bought Bed Head Down and Dirty Clarifying shampoo to try it because I was running out of options.
“I’d tried everything. And it was just, wow! The improvement is undeniable!”
To take her haircare routine up a notch, she also incorporated double shampooing.
The advice came from Chris Wenzel, a hairstylist with a shaved head who is known as the BlowOut Professor.
“I wash almost all of my clients twice,” he said in an Instagram video.
One wash, he explained, isn’t enough to get all the oil out of the scalp.
“A lot of people don’t get their hair all the way clean,” he added.
The Redditor also shared another double shampooing trick that she’d learned from the BlowOut Professor.
Benefits of double shampooing
Similar to facial double cleansing, double shampooing is a method for thoroughly cleansing one’s hair and scalp of impurities.
According to UpCircle Beauty, double shampooing eliminates “stubborn buildup and oils which can result in scalp conditions like dandruff.”
There are a variety of benefits to double shampooing, including:
“Also, one tip: if you double shampoo, I recommend using your clarifying shampoo on the first cleanse and your regular shampoo on the second,” she said.
“Seriously I can’t believe that a guy with no hair has given the best hair tips I could ever ask for!”
The Redditor revealed the products she uses to get her hair squeaky clean.
“I like shampoos with Sodium Laureth Sulfate. I use Lacura from Aldi,” she said of the product.
“It’s a cheap shampoo, but it does the job. For my hair, at least.
“Then I follow up with some Pantene conditioner. Then I use Pantene leave-in conditioner topped with some argan oil.”
