Major sports app with free live channels launches today for millions of Sky viewers – how to watch

A MAJOR sports app with free live channels is launching today for millions of Sky viewers just in time for the Champions League Final.

The DAZN app is now available on Sky’s TVs, including the Sky Q, Sky Glass, and its Sky Stream service.

The update will come just as Brits will be sitting down to watch the Champions League Final held at Wembley tonight.

The app now sits with the other apps on the smart TV, such as YouTube, Netflix, and the BBC.

New subscribers to DAZN will be able to sign-up through the app.

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said: “DAZN’s distribution strategy is to be as accessible to as many sports fans as possible, and Sky’s great technology through Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream, will help us get into more homes across the UK and Ireland.”

An exclusive 5v5 pay-per-view boxing event is also on today – which will see top fighters slug it out in Riyadh.

The biggest fight of the undercard will feature heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Zhlei Zhang squaring off.

DAZN has priced the event at £21.99 and it is also available to watch on TNT Sports.

The app update is not the first time DAZN has been available on Sky products.

DAZN’s launched its first linear HD channel, DAZN 1 HD, on Sky Channel 429 in March 2023.

But it was only available to Sky Q and Sky HD customers, leaving those with Sky Glass and Sky Stream unable to watch.

The DAZN app is also available on Amazon Fire TVs and Fire Sticks, most smart TVs, as well as iOS and Android phones and tablets.

DAZN is well known for its boxing coverage in the UK, but the streamer has been trying to grow the number of sports it shows, including football.

The streamer made a play for Premier League rights as well as Ligue 1 football from the other side of the Channel.

DAZN boasts 20 million “premium” customers with a footprint across most major nations.

DAZN, which stands for ‘Da Zone’, is an international sports streaming platform that first launched in 2016.
