Heatwave impact: Mungeshwar weather station's 52.9°C reading was 3°C higher due to sensor error, Rijiju says
Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju dismissed the 52.9 degree Celsius reading in Mungeshpur, Delhi as incorrect. He attributed it to a three-degree sensor error in the automatic weather station report. Following an investigation by the India Meteorological Department, it was revealed that only the Mungeshpur station had afaulty reading, while other Delhi stations reported accurate temperatures. The anomaly was discovered by a committee led by Rijiju.
