A savvy shopper was thrilled with their buy and quickly took to social media to show off their loot.

Taking to the Facebook group, B&M Scanner And Other Bargains!, they alerted fellow bargain hunters to their find.

They wrote: “Couple of bargains found today in B&M.”

The post also shared photos of their finds, which included a couple of others deals too, and a screenshot of the low £1 price spotted using the B&M Scanner app.

One bargain hunter commented: “Great job. How do you know what to scan or is it just a guess?

“Are there any tell-tell signs something is going to be cheaper than what it says on the box?”

A second said: “Amazing finds btw.”

A third wrote: “I love this I went into the store today and got a record player that was marked £39 for me 10p today !!!”

While a fourth posted: “Guess I’m going shopping tomorrow things I don’t need.”

Bear in mind, if you’re looking to snap up the stool for £1, you might not find it in your local branch so cheap.

Retailers tend to reduce items like this to clear stock in specific branches.

So it’s not a guarantee that you will find a bargain just like other punters do.

Stock may vary at different branches so it’s worth checking ahead.

Always remember to shop around when buying something like this as well as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use websites like Price Spy and Trolley to compare prices on thousands of products across different retailers.

The Google Product tab is helpful for running a quick scan across the internet too.

How to find your nearest B&M

THERE are plenty of B&Ms around the UK - in fact, the retailer has around 600 stores.

To find your nearest, use the online store locator tool.

There are three different types of B&M shops: Bargains Stores, Home Stores and Home Stores with Garden Centre.

But what’s the difference? Bargains Stores tend to be based on high streets and have a smaller range of goods.

Home Stores have larger furniture items, while Home Stores with Garden Centres have an outside space for garden products.

The savvy shopper who goes by @nostalgia.2000s1 on TikTok also posted a video explaining shoppers can use the B&M scanning app to get money off their purchases.

The tool allows shoppers to discover discounted items before the staff has even reduced them.

The scanner lets you see if the item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift, or they’re labelled “big brands” and “big savings”.

The scanner is completely free as well – you just need to download the B&M app.

What is the B&M scanner app?

SAVVY shoppers are using an app to find better discounts in stores.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up for the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is lower than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Remember you can find your nearest B&M branch by using the retailer’s store locator tool on its website.
