Men’s ideal fictional flatmate revealed – as women would most like to share a home with Friends’ Rachel
MEN would most like to share a home with Del Boy, while women would want to live with Friends’ Rachel, a poll shows.
There is a big gender divide when it comes to the ideal fictional flatmate, the survey suggests.
Fellas chose dodgy dealer Del from Only Fools and Horses — played by David Jason — followed by Mr Bean, played by Rowan Atkinson.
The Doctor from Doctor Who came third, although which of the 14 was not specified.
For women, Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston, was followed by Barbie, as played on screen by Margot Robbie.
Friends’ Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, was also on the list.
Other characters just outside the top ten included other Friends favourites Chandler, Phoebe and Ross — alongside The Simpsons’ Marge and Bart.
Only Fools’ Rodney and Uncle Albert also got a look in, as did Basil Fawlty and the Royle Family’s Jim.
Claire Harrison, 36, of Tonbridge, Kent, said: “Rachel would be great fun for going out on a night out — but I wouldn’t say no to Joey.”
David Joyson, of Homeprotect insurance, which did the survey, said: “Asking who we’d like to bring in from our TV screens to our real-life living rooms revealed some fascinating insights.”
