The main ingredient is a common breakfast option, and she sprays the mixture all over everything, even her children.

In a TikTok video, she showed how she keeps mosquitos away from her home.
She shared the benefits and uses of her “mosquito repellent that actually works.”
It consisted mostly of coffee, which also works as a great gardening aid.
“I throw coffee grounds all over my back yard and windows and the door, it really works,” a viewer commented.
“That’s awesome!! We did that, and then we read it could be unsafe for dogs to ingest coffee grounds. So diluted coffee was the safe option for us!” Annie replied.
The first step was to brew about six cups of strong coffee before the next part.
Basically, it measured about one scoop for every one cup.
She then filled with a squirt bottle with half coffee and half water, so it was diluted.
That’s all you need to make the DIY repellent.
From that point on, she said to “squirt anywhere you spend time.”
For her that included the grass lawn and her favorite outdoor seating area, which she admitted is where she normally gets bit the most.
She made sure to douse it in the DIY solution in the video.
“I don’t know why, but the mosquitos love to hang right here,” she said.
She makes sure to reapply it every day.

A crucial step was to spray the coffee mix on her children because they spend a lot of time outside.
If you’re worried about a lingering scent, you shouldn’t be.
Annie said that it leaves a very faint coffee smell and doesn’t stain clothes.
She usually gets several bites within minutes of sitting in her favorite chair, but at the time of the TikTok, she had none.
Annie wrote in a comment that the “stronger the scent, the better” when it comes to the caffeinated mix.
TikTok users were excited to try it for themselves.
“Awesome! I need to try this. The mosquitos are awful in Georgia,” one commented.
“I live in Bakersfield and omg this has been the worst, My legs are all bitten up and I’m so over this. I’m going to try this. Thank you. Hoping it works,” another said.
