Sunday and more waves
Hello Friends,
Our amazing run of waves continues. Sunday morning saw a faint WNW breeze grooming the incoming 1.8 metre, 9 second S-SE swell for the healthy crowd at Dee Why. Waves were in the chest to shoulder-plus range on the sets and happily it was very consistent, so there should be something for everyone. The tide swing is less than a metre between the 1.3 m high at 1030 and the 0.7 m low at 1550. Weather should be partly cloudy with only a slight chance of a passing sprinkle.
The good news is that the swell models are predicting waves every day for, well, as far ahead as they project. It should continue about the same intensity through Tuesday and then late Wednesday it looks as though the size should ramp up into the 2-3 metre range through to next week. Wind looks basically like being offshore the entire time. So good!
Have a top old Sunday!
Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is drifting away to the east, but is still directing fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds across southern and central waters. Winds will turn north to northwesterly and increase early next week ahead of the passage of a cold front later Tuesday or Wednesday.
