Appartement Chantilly

Appartement Chantilly is a minimalist duplex located in Paris, France, designed by ūti. This project addresses the challenge of minimizing the long, traditional corridors typical of Haussmann flats, instead focusing on optimizing the living areas. The redesign effectively utilizes every inch of space, beginning with the kitchen, which now occupies the former entrance corridor. Featuring a patinated terracotta floor and oak units complemented by stainless steel tops and shelves, the kitchen seamlessly integrates functionality and style. A shared bathroom serves the bedrooms, accessed via a corridor adorned with blurred-glass doors. Through these doors, one can glimpse the two-tone ceramic tiles that add character to the family bathroom. Central to the layout, the study functions as an antechamber to the master suite, enhancing the flow and usability of the space. Upstairs, a rough concrete staircase leads to a guest bedroom, providing a private retreat for visitors. The master suite itself includes a spacious dressing room with woven cotton and linen fronts, and a shower room that repurposes the former utility kitchen space.
