Teams face off in series rubber match today

After splitting the first two games of the series this weekend, the Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays will face off this afternoon in the rubber match of the series.

Getting the start today for Mark Kotsay’s A’s is 26-year-old righty Mitch Spence. This will be Spence’s fifth start since starting the season in the bullpen and has a 4-3 record with a 3.86 ERA in 44 1/3 innings. Today’s Blue Jays starter will be 28-year-old right hander Bowden Frances. This will be his third start of 2024 and seventh appearance overall. He enters the game with a 2-2 record and a 9.00 ERA.
