Young girl and woman suffer serious injuries after ‘being stabbed’ and are rushed to hospital
A YOUNG girl and a woman have suffered serious injuries after reportedly being stabbed.
Cops scrambled to an address in Carlisle just after 8am this morning following reports that a man in his fifties had stab wounds.
After officers arrived they found a woman in her 50s and child with serious injuries.
The woman and girl have been taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries.
A man has been taken to Cumberland Infirmary with a stab wound and is described as stable.
Cumbria Police said: “Emergency services are currently responding to a report of an incident on Whernside, Carlisle.
“There is no wider threat to the public and officers are asking members of the public to avoid the area while they investigate.”
