Grant Savoury re-signs and is looking forward to the new season

Queen's Park goal-grabber Grant Savoury has re-signed for the new season and we are sure that this news will please everyone connected with the club whether that be on or off the field of play.

After a frustrating year the 23-year-old attacker is looking forward to being back in a Black and White jersey and is pleased that Callum Davidson asked him to put pen to paper despite not seeing him in action.

Grant said: “I have been working throughout the summer trying to ensure that I can get some pre-season training under my belt. I am feeling good, and it was an easy decision to continue at Queen’s Park.

“I was always looking to come back as the club have done so much for me following my injury. I was delighted to get the paperwork done and I am looking forward to the new season.”

The former Celtic and Peterhead forward admitted that is looking to make up for lost time as he added: “It is a bit unique to have a manager that wants you to stay but has never seen you play. Hopefully I will show him soon that it was well worth extending my contract.

“Season 22/23 was a good season for me and for the club. Hopefully 24/25 will be the same and we will compete at the top end of the league.

“I scored 14 goals that season and I will look to top that in this coming year.”

Callum added: “Having Grant fit and available is like a new signing to me. I know how highly he is regarded at the club and in the game. To have a player of his quality in my squad gives me options I did not have during my first few months, so I am really pleased with that.”

Darren O’Donnell, Director of Football said: “Grant has worked really hard over the past year, and everyone will be delighted when he gets back onto the pitch. He is an exciting player who got his career at Queen’s Park off to a great start and I am looking forward to seeing him playing like that again.”
