LOVE Island fans are convinced that Joey Essex has exposed a secret feud with former Towie co-star Gemma Collins.

Last night Joey, 33, referred to the iconic scene when Gemma, 43, told her ex James Argent, 36, “you ain’t ever going to get any of this candy” during an old episode of the ITVBe reality show.

Nicole Samuel and Samantha Kenny made a comment about the scene, and Ciaran Davies had no idea what they were talking about.

Joey, who was on Towie between 2011 and 2013, explained to him: “I was with my mate in the pool, and then some girl walks out and says: ‘You ain’t ever getting this candy’.

“Literally, probably about eleven and a half years ago.”

Ciaran chimed in: “Samantha, I can’t lie, I feel like you know more about Joey then Joey knows about himself.”

Joey joked that she had been researching him beforehand.

Many flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their shock at Joey’s comment.

One wrote: “Joey Essex did NOT just refer to the QUEEN herself Gemma Collins as “some girl”…. #LoveIsland.”

Another said: “How DARE Joey Essex call the queen GC, ‘Some Girl’.”

A third chimed in: “some girl? joey put some respect on her name.”

“as if joey just referred to gemma collins as some girl respect her please,” a fourth tweeted.

The iconic moment happened all the way back in 2012 while in Marbella.

During the episode, Arg, Diags and Joey were hanging out in the pool.

Joey then asked Gemma: “Are yous two gonna get together or what?”

Gemma replied: Well, I just want to say something to you [James].

“You’ve been going around discussing what’s happened between us, yeah?

“Well, let me tell you something now: You don’t ever disrespect a girl like that here.”

She then took off her pink towel and showed off her curves in a black swimsuit.

The GC added: “Take a good look at this. You ain’t ever gonna get this candy.”

Gemma and Arg’s on/off relationship started back in 2012 and split for good in 2020.
