Police investigating bomb threat at Woodstock Library

According to the Town of Woodstock, New York State Police, Woodstock Police, and Saugerties Police are investigating a bomb threat called into the Woodstock Library on Sunday. The Woodstock Public Library District says a staff member received a death threat via email, indicating a bomb was in the library.

WOODSTOCK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the Town of Woodstock, New York State Police, Woodstock Police, and Saugerties Police are investigating a bomb threat called into the Woodstock Library on Sunday. The Woodstock Public Library District says a staff member received a death threat via email, indicating a bomb was in the library.

The Woodstock Public Library District says the email referenced the drag story hour event the library held on Saturday. Woodstock Police were contacted and dispatched to the library with Saugerties Police and New York State Police.

The property was searched and evacuated as a safety precaution. The Woodstock Public Library District says no suspicious materials were found and the property was declared safe.

The library will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday as usual. Anyone with information relevant to the threat is asked to contact the Woodstock Police at (845) 679-2422.
