Two hospitalized after fire breaks out at residence in Pittsburg
PITTSBURG — Two people were hospitalized early Monday after a two-alarm fire broke out at a multi-family home, fire officials said.
The fire started about 8:15 a.m., and crews had it extinguished by 9 a.m. Firefighters will remain at the scene into the later morning to clean up and monitor for hot spots, fire officials said.
An ambulance took two people believed to be residents to a hospital, where they were in critical condition, according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District. Investigators were working to determine the cause of the blaze.
The building in the 2100 block of Crestview Drive is not an apartment complex but houses more than one family, according to ConFire.
The blaze came one day after another fire in Pittsburg burned about 55 acres and threatened homes on John Henry Johnson Parkway.
