Poughkeepsie Police investigating Main Street shooting

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department announced they are investigating a shooting that occurred on June 8. One victim was injured as a result of the incident.

On Saturday morning around 11:44 a.m., officers responded to Main Street and North White Street following a report of shots being fired. A short time later, a local hospital reported to police that a 22-year-old man was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm after arriving in a private car.

Police searching the area were able to locate multiple shell casings at the scene. Detectives were assisted by a Town of Poughkeepsie Police Canine Unit.
