Caitlin Clark Reacts to Not Making U.S. Olympics Women's Basketball Team

Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall pick, has officially confirmed that she will not be competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Over the weekend, the 22-year-old Indiana Fever guard and Fever coach Christie Sides spoke out after it was revealed that Caitlin did not make Team USA’s women’s basketball team for the 2024 Olympics in Paris next month.

The women’s basketball team competing at the Olympics this summer is full MVPs including A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Alyssa Thomas, and Napheesa Collier.

Due to the level of talent and experience (no players are younger than 26), Caitlin said that she has “no disappointment” in not making the team.

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” Caitlin said. “I know it’s the most competitive team in the world and I know it could have gone either way of me being on the team, me not being on the team. I’m excited for them, gonna be rooting them on to win gold. I was a kid who grew up watching the Olympics, so it’ll be fun to watch them.”

She continued, “I think it just gives you something to work for. It’s a dream, hopefully one day I can be there and I think it’s just a little more motivation. You remember that and hopefully in four years I can be there.”

Just recently, a sports analyst apologized to Caitlin after calling her a “white b-tch.”

The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place in Paris from Friday, July 26 through Sunday, August 11.
