Reddit user Aenflex offered their tried-and-true tips for stopping the aging process prematurely in a post.

It doesn’t only have to do with skincare and has to do with your overall health and wellness.

First and foremost, she said to “drink more water. Lots of it.”

She also emphasized the benefits of using “simple products to replenish your barrier.”

“I like plain Aquaphor, or creams with petrolatum. I also use plant oils and my dry, mature skin loves them,” she said.

She admitted that she uses oils mostly to moisturize, and Baobab, Borage, Kalahari melon seed mixtures are the typical bottles in her “rotation.”

She added that “you don’t need a pile of skincare products” to fix the skin texture issue.

The Redditor’s beauty regimen consists of the Timeless Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Pure Serum, $13.96, an occlusive cream or oils, and a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser.

She does keep some “regular creams” as part of her beauty regimen, like Aquaphor, Creme de la Mer, a thick tub of Eucerin cream, and Vaseline.

She recommended the drugstore CosRX Hydrium watery toner as another option for a hydrating serum.

The Reddit user cleanses and removes makeupwith the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm , $30.75, Albolene, or plain coconut oil.

“Any of those three products will fully remove whatever is on my face, makeup, thick sunscreen, etc,” she explained.

The Reddit user said she always massages her face and uses a hot cloth to remove leftover residue.

If she washes her face in the shower, she’ll use something foaming like the Shiseido Waso cleanser, which is now discontinued, or the Cerave Hydrating Cream-to-foam Cleanser, $15.48.

Following cleansing, she said she “always apply humectants to damp skin,” and then something occlusive over her humectants.

Apply the hydrating products to damp skin, pat in, spray with water again, and pat on your oil, cream, or lotion.

“I like to pat and massage that all in and let it dry down before moving on to sunscreen and makeup,” she explained.

The Redditor then suggested incorporating a “nice hydrating serum with something occlusive on top” into your routine for slugging overnight.

Slugging is a beauty method that involves applying a layer of petroleum jelly or other occlusive ointment to your skin as one of the final steps in your nighttime routine.

As the last step, she uses prescription Azelaic acid, a glycolic acid product, and the Timeless CEF serum as her “actives.”

“I alternate nights between the tretinoin, glycolic acid, and azelaic acid, and a few mornings per week I use the CEF,” she explained.

Never forget to wear sunscreen during the day it plays a vital role in the aging process.

When it comes to makeup, she said to “move away from desiccating makeup like powders and matte foundations.”

Instead, look for dewy foundations and skip the powder entirely.

She also keeps a can of water in her bathroom to mist her skin between layers of makeup.

All of these anti-aging tips play a vital role in maintaining her youthful appearance.
