Dutchess County man arrested on burglary charge

A LaGrange man has been arrested following a burglary investigation, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

LAGRANGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A LaGrange man has been arrested following a burglary investigation, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Konrad Gumper, 46, is facing multiple charges.

On June 7 at 4:15 a.m., the Sheriff's Office responded to Vale Fox Distillery on Noxon Road in LaGrange after an alarm was triggered at the business. Upon arrival, deputies found a suspect in the building, who fled the area on foot.

The suspect, later identified as Gumper, was located near the business during an ensuing search and was taken into custody. Deputies say Gumper is accused of forcing entry into the distillery and causing extensive damage inside. He was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Gumper was arraigned at the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. The investigation remains ongoing and more charges are possible, according to the Sheriff's Office.
