Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week presented by Bravis Craft Mexican Kitchen and Luro Boots
The Minnesota HBPA started the tradition several years ago of honoring weekly a groom that exemplifies the trade. Grooms are the backbone of racing, caring for the equine athletes. Much of their work goes unseen and largely unappreciated by the general public. Grooms are hands-on daily with the horses and a good groom makes a huge difference for a successful trainer.
This week the Minnesota HBPA honors Maribel Marin from the Joe Blair Roberts barn. She will be recognized Thursday following race one in a winner’s circle presentation.
Maribel is meticulous in the care of her horses. She also keeps the shedrow organized and safe. Her positive personality and big smile keep everyone in good spirits.
From Puebla, Mexico, Maribel began working at Lone Star a few years ago for trainer Dallas Keen. She recently joined the Roberts’ barn. This is her first season at Canterbury Park.
Joe Blair Roberts says that “Maribel works very diligently to make sure her horses are in top shape and looking absolutely fantastic!”
Congratulations to Maribel Marin, the Minnesota HBPA Groom of the Week.
A groom will be recognized each Thursday during the meet and will receive gifts from the Minnesota HBPA, and sponsors Bravis Craft Mexican Kitchen and Luro Boots.
