W. Congress Street bridge to close for repairs Wednesday
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The W. Congress Street Bridge, located in the 4800 block of W. Congress Street approximately a quarter-mile west of Rue du Belier, is about to close for repairs.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic starting Wednesday and is expected to last approximately 2.5 months. During this time, detour routes will be posted to guide drivers around the construction zone. Local access will be maintained to ensure residents and businesses in the immediate area are minimally impacted, officials said.
Eastbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Le Violin Road to Dulles Drive and then to Rue Du Belier. Westbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Rue Du Belier to Dulles and then to Le Violin Road.
