Rohit Sharma Gets Mobbed In New York Streets; India Captain Obliges To Fans’ Request For Selfies, Autographs – WATCH

New York: Rohit Sharma got mobbed by the fans in the streets of New York as the India captain went out with his family for a break in between the matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. In a video that went viral on social media, fans were seen asking for selfies to Rohit to which he duly obliged. The India opener was also seen giving autographs to a handful of fans before leaving the place in his car.

After India defeated Pakistan on June 9, the players got a day’s break and utilised it to their full effect. Rohit decided to spend it with his family, taking his wife and daughter to nature’s trail. Although the exact location of the place is not known, based on the pictures, it looked like they went somewhere close to nature.

Meanwhile, India need just a win from their remaining two games to cement their place in the Super 8 stage. India, with two wins in two games, are on top of Group A, while USA are second with same number of wins as Men in Blue. Rohit, for his part, scored a fifty against Ireland but failed to replicate the same against Pakistan.

Earlier, Rohit was hit on shoulder against Ireland by a Joshua Little delivery. He immediately felt pain and left the field retired out. It wasn’t a major injury through. Having won five IPL titles with Mumbai Indians, Rohit is eagerly wanting to win one silverware with the national team as a captain.

Under his captaincy, India played the semifinals of 2022 T20 World Cup, and the finals of World Test Championship and ODI World Cup last year. India are one of the favourites to win the ongoing T20 World Cup.
