Here's the Reason Why 'The Boys' Is Ending After 5 Seasons on Prime Video

Today (June 11), just two days before The Boys season four debuts on Prime Video, showrunner Eric Kripke announced that the upcoming fifth season would be the show’s last.

Now, he’s explaining his decision to end the show after five seasons.

“I like five seasons. People have been asking me why that number and I think honestly as a TV writer I was trained on five acts and so it just makes sense to me to stretch out for that long. It gives you enough time to delve into the characters but it’s also not so long that it wears out its welcome,” he told The Wrap.

The Boys season four will return on June 13, 2024, and then will air a new episode weekly every week thereafter.
