Dave RemisAll Messages By This Member#59950I bought a craftsman 12 inch lathe a long time ago. When I purchased it it was mounted to a homemade workbench onto a steel plate that was on the bench. I took the lathe off of the bench with the steel plate and took the bench for regular work. Now i have decided to use the lathe after I fixed the leadscrew mounting bearing with a custom made aluminum block. Now I needed a table so that I could mount the lathe up. I took the sheet metal craftsman table then I took the steel plate and two 1 inch plus boards (they were not that straight but I never see straight ones anyway) and mounted them to be as flat possible by mounting them to the steel plate. Now the steel plate when unbolted has a slight bow to it across but it isn't that much. Well after mounting it up the lathe has at least an 1/8 inch of rock diagonally corner to corner. Now I haven't mounted the lathe to this surface because of the rock. So my question is could the lathe be twisted o...
