Report names 13 Tottenham players who could go out on loan next season

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to bring in a number of new players, but the club will also likely send many of its players out around the footballing world on loan. Football.London have looked at the options, and earmarked 13 players who could be set for temporary spells elsewhere next season.

Tottenham’s successful 2023/24 loans

Spurs saw a few success stories from the loan moves they arranged in the 2023/24 campaign, with the likes of Alfie Devine, Ashley Phillips, and Troy Parrott all gaining valuable experience and excelling at their respective new clubs.

However, the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Alejo Veliz, and Dane Scarlett all endured disastrous loan spells this season with incredibly limited first-team opportunities.

Still, Tottenham will very likely utilise the loan market once more in the upcoming campaign as they look to offer young players the chance to get first-team experience under their belts.

Who could leave Spurs on loan?

According to Football.London, there are 13 Spurs players primed for a loan move next season, some who already had loan spells this season, and others who might be moving on for the first time.

The first, and biggest, name on the list is Oliver Skipp. The Spurs academy graduate seemingly needs a move “in order to play regularly” but the fact he is a homegrown, club-trained player may make an exit difficult.

Alfie Whiteman, too, needs to get “regular football” under his belt, but as Spurs’ fourth-choice goalkeeper, that will not happen if he stays at the club.

Young centre-half Ashley Phillips looks set for another temporary spell in the Championship after a fairly successful campaign with Plymouth Argyle last year. He could return to the Pilgrims, as could Alfie Devine.

The number of non-homegrown players at Spurs is a potential “headache” when it comes to Europa League squad registration, and Alejo Veliz could be shipped out in order to ease that issue and to work towards becoming a “more experienced” striker.

A number of Tottenham’s title-winning Under-21 squad could be looking for loan moves in the forthcoming season, too. Captain George Abbott will be looking for a “taste of senior football,” while Spurs will have “plenty of offers” for star striker, Will Lankshear.

Winger, Yago Santiago, and attacker Jude Soonsup-Bell are also predicted to head out on loan to take the “next step” in their careers. Meanwhile, the pick of the bunch from the Spurs academy, Jamie Donley, for whom a loan move is a “no-brainer.”

Alfie Dorrington, Nile John, Dane Scarlett, Matthew Craig, and Josh Keeley are also on the list.

Apart from Oliver Skipp, who I just can’t see Spurs letting go due to his homegrown status, I would imagine all of these players will get loan moves this year.

We just have to make sure we are picking their destinations very carefully, as we cannot afford another situation like Dane Scarlett faced at Ipswich this season.
