TOPEKA (KSNT) - The national healthcare provider Ascension is sharing that it has restored access to its Electronic Health Records (EHR) in several states Tuesday after a cyberattack last month.

Ascension, which manages numerous healthcare institutions across the country, announced in a press release that EHR access is restored for the following areas:

  • Florida
  • Alabama
  • Tennessee
  • Maryland
  • Austin
  • Oklahoma
  • Wisconsin
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Part of Michigan (Genesys, Rochester, Saginaw and Tawas)
  • Part of Indiana (Evansville)

Ascension manages hospitals and clinics in Wichita, Pittsburg, Wamego and Manhattan in Kansas. An Ascension spokesman said this will allow most hospital departments, physician offices and clinics to use their electronic documentation, charting and ordering systems again.
