Registered sex offender arrested in Calcasieu Parish, charged with juvenile sex crimes
Carey B. Sollay, 47, of Lake Charles, is charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor.
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Lake Charles man, a registered sex offender, has been arrested and charged with sex crimes involving children, authorities said.
Carey B. Sollay, 47, of Lake Charles, is charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor.
In 2021, Sollay was convicted of possession of child pornography in Lafayette, authorities said.
On June 13, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received an indecent behavior complaint regarding a convicted sex offender. Detectives said Sollay was having sexually inappropriate conversations and sending explicit photos of himself to what he believed to be juveniles.
The same day Sollay was located and questioned by detectives at which time he confirmed the allegations, officials said.
He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. At the time of his arrest, he was in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons, housed at a local work release facility.
Bond details were not released.
