Gamethread: White Sox at Diamondbacks
It’s a brand new day and a brand new series
Happy Friday, friends. Fresh off winning one game in overtime to avoid being swept by the Mariners, the White Sox look to start a winning streak against the Diamondbacks.
There were a few transactions this afternoon. Tommy Pham was already in Arizona on a rehab assignment and has been reinstated. The young and apparently unlucky Jordan Leasure was optioned back to Charlotte alongside Zach DeLoach. I’m sure they’ll be back again, probably sooner rather than later, but I bid them farewell for now. Chad Kuhl’s contract was selected today to add another righty to the pile of mediocre pitchers.

Chris Flexen (2-5) is on the bump tonight. After several losses under his belt, his ERA is quite inflated at 5.06.
Tommy Pham and Andrew Benintendi are both back in the lineup after returning from injuries.

Ryne Nelson (3-5) starts for the Diamondbacks. His ERA is actually worse than Flexen’s at 5.96. Yikes. I’m sure this team will make him look like a Cy Young candidate though.
Game 70.
