We test three toners at all price points to hydrate and brighten your skin

UNTIL recently, I thought toners were a waste of time, but a new breed of lightweight, hydrating heroes have completely changed my opinion.

Here’s three of the best, at every price point.

We test three toners at every price point

Budget

Ordinary
The Ordinary’s Milky Toner is a great budget option[/caption]

THE ORDINARY Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner (£12.40 for 100ml, lookfantastic.com): For a while, I’d got a bit tired with The Ordinary, but it’s back and better than ever.

All of the products launched recently have been smash hits, so I wasn’t surprised that I loved this too.

It combines hydration and exfoliation, so you get nourished skin instantly and smoother skin over time.

It definitely boosts radiance, although I did find that I ended up with a couple of whiteheads around my nose from where it had blocked my pores – so if you’re acne prone, it’s probably one to skip.

Otherwise, it would be a great addition to any routine.

Mid-range

Farmacy
The Farmacy Honey Milk Hydrating Essence feels instantly soothing[/caption]

FARMACY Honey Milk Hydrating Essence, (£31 for 120ml, cultbeauty.co.uk): I’ve not tried a product that I didn’t like from Farmacy – everything they launch is really considered – so I had high hopes for this one.

Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed.

There’s not a hint of stickiness, so you can easily layer it under other skincare products without any interference or having to wait between steps.

It feels instantly soothing, and I could really feel a difference when I used it, which is exactly what I want from a skincare product.

If I could only pick one, it would be this.

Luxury

This toner is pure luxury from start to finish

OMOROVICZA Queen Essence (£75 for 100ml, spacenk.com): As you’d expect from something this pricey, it’s pure luxury from start to finish.

The packaging is weighty, and the formula is lightweight and absorbs easily so it’s not adding any time to your skincare routine.

It wasn’t as hydrating as the other two, but I have quite oily skin so that wasn’t an issue for me.

It’s a beautiful product that feels amazing on the skin, but I cannot justify the price, and even if I did have that kind of money to burn, I’d probably spend it elsewhere in my skincare routine on potent treatments.
